Spelling packets will come home on Mondays and are due on Friday.  At this point in the year when children are writing their sentence for their test I am looking for beginning letter capitalized, end punctuation, and correctly spelled words.  I keep it very basic and these are words they have been using since kindergarten and should already know.

Each week a small book will come home with your child, usually on Thursdays.  The children are to read this book with an adult and have the adult sign the book and they will receive a small prize.

In math we are on chapter 7 – Numbers to 120 and Two-Digit Addition and Subtraction.  A great way to practice at home is by counting from 1 to 120. You can also ask for examples of how many hundreds, how many tens, and how many ones.  For example in reading when we turn to page 106, I will ask how many hundreds (1), how many tens (0) and how many ones (6).

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I am always available.
